Questions for Book Bloggers

Saw this one over at Errant Thoughts:

What are you reading right now?
See current Libraything list to the right->
Sharper Than a Serpent’s Tooth, by Simon R. Green
Rogue Angel: Secret of the Slaves, by “Alex Archer”
Devil’s Right Hand, by Lilith Saintcrow

Do you have any idea what you’ll read when you’re done with that?
I have quite a list lined up. Here are just a few:
Poltergeist, by Kat Richardson
Once Bitten, Twice Shy, by Jennifer Rardin
Princes of the Golden Cage, by Nathalie Mallet
Crystal Rain and Ragamuffin, by Tobias Buckell

What magazines do you have in your bathroom right now?
None. Though there’s probably still a Norwegian joke book in there somewhere.

What’s the worst thing you were ever forced to read?
I haven’t been forced to read anything since college, and I doubt I read the textbook thoroughly if I didn’t like it.

What’s the one book you always recommend to just about everyone?
One book? I recommend books based on the genres that people prefer.
And those usually are:
Area 51 series, by Robert Doherty – science fiction
Rogue Angel series, by “Alex Archer” – adventure/fantasy
Scent of Shadows, by Vicki Pettersson – urban fantasy
Bitterwood, by James Maxey – fantasy
Pennsylvania Dutch Mystery series, by Tamar Myers – mystery, laced with humor

Admit it, the librarians at your library know you on a first name basis, don’t they?
No, but the people at Borders Bookstore probably do.

Is there a book you absolutely love, but for some reason, people never think it sounds interesting, or maybe they read it and don’t like it at all?
Nothing comes to mind…

Do you read books while you eat? While you bathe? While you watch movies or TV? While you listen to music? While you’re on the computer? While you’re driving?
Eat – yes
Bathe – sometimes, to relax
While watching TV/movies – rarely, it’s too hard to concentrate on one or the other
Listening to music – no, I like silence while reading
On the computer – I sometimes read pdf’s of books on the computer, so yes.
While driving – only when stopped at a long light

When you were little, did other children tease you about your reading habits?
Of course… and friends still do. I even got in trouble for reading while the teacher was talking in 1st Grade. Granted, she was talking about letters, and it was boring as I already knew how to read…

What’s the last thing you stayed up half the night reading because it was so good you couldn’t put it down?
Half the night? Not possible for me. I’m not a night person. But I stay up late on Friday nights to usually finish up books. Last one was Paths Not Taken, by Simon R. Green.

  1. Why don’t you join ‘Shelfari’ like I have? You can list your books, join groups and have friends, as well as discuss and review books. I’m there under ‘Jean-Luc’ Let me know.
