Blood of Dawn by Tami Dane
Being a skeptic is somehow making Sloan Skye one of the best profilers in the FBI’s new Paranormal Behavioral Analysis Unit. True, her so-called love life isn’t any less tangled, but she’s beginning to believe she’s found a place where her uber-geek smarts and her more out-there methods fit perfectly. Unfortunately, all the incredible things she’s seen can’t prepare Sloan for the ultimate horror show …returning to high school. Someone – or something – is draining blood out of local teenage girls while they sleep. And the only way Sloan can solve the case is to push past her training and surrender to powers beyond her formidable logic to root out one very elusive killer.
This latest serial killer definitely falls into the realm of bizarre and creepy when teenage girls are murdered with a vampire-like bite in their necks. And though Sloan is only an intern with the bureau, she’s asked to go undercover and enroll in high school to investigate the teens’ deaths. There is no shortage of suspects either. And while the ultimate villain is fairly predictable, there are still some big surprises along the way. Sloan finds herself in more complicated relationship drama as well. Third in this exciting urban fantasy series, Blood of Dawn is another riveting installment with plenty of magic, mystery, suspense, and romance.
Blood of Dawn releases from Kensington Press on December 4, 2012.
