Box Review: Comic Con Box – November 2015

Comic Con Box Comic Con Box

ComicCon Box is “a premium monthly box service that brings everything Comic Con to the doorsteps of fans.” The price is $29.99 plus shipping.

Comic Con Box

The theme of this box was “Survivor.”

Comic Con Box

Take a Chance To Megaton Tshirt (Retail $10?) – Does anyone like this design? Not sure why it was chosen as “the” shirt for this month’s box other than fitting the theme. Another shirt toss.

Comic Con Box

Morgan (The Walking Dead) Funko POP! (Retail $10.38) – Unfortunately, I can’t stomach The Walking Dead, so this month’s POP was a big disappointment for me.

Game of Thrones Edition 2 Vinyl Figure Mystery Mini (Retail $7.88) – This is another I don’t care for. So, 0 for 3.

Comic Con Box

Apollo Creed Rocky II Superstars (Retail $22.95) – What’s with the ridiculous price tag on Amazon for this little figure? With the new Creed film coming out, this was pretty cute. Still, it’s not a scifi collectible, so I probably wont keep. If I wasn’t discerning, my house would look like something out of hoarders, I’m sure.

Stikbot (Retail $9.55) – I’m not the target audience for this either. It may end up in a kid’s stocking at Christmas.

Comic Con Box

Nuka Dew Mousepad (Retail $1-2?) – People still use mousepads?

Bonded For Life Print (Retail N/A) – This is the one item in the box that actually caught my attention. And I don’t even care for prints. Pretty sad for this box.

Never Give Up Towel (Retail $1-2?) – An random hand towel? No thanks.

Comic Con Box

Lone Survivor Superman Print (Retail n/a) – I love Superman, but not this style of artwork. Bummer.

Supergirl #1 Comic Con Box Variant (Retail $2.99) – I already have and read this. Which is fine, but something Superman/Supergirl was the one thing I was counting on in this box and they both were disappointments.

Summary: I really felt let down since these were the only 2 Superman/Supergirl items in the box. The shape of the S on Survivor theme logo and the box itself got my hopes up for a Superman (or girl) figure. But this is all we got. There isn’t one thing I’m keeping from this box. Thankfully, this is the first total-fail for Comic Con Box. They have been a strong favorite of mine for several months. I hope they can come back with next month’s box.

The #8/December Box Theme is… shock of all shocks…

Comic Con Box

Every box is jumping on the Star Wars bandwagon. But I’m a huge fan, so that’s okay by me.
