LEGO Review: Jurassic World: Carnotaurus Gyrosphere Escape

LEGO Jurassic World Carnotaurus Gyrosphere Escape 75929 Building Kit

Carnotaurus Gyrosphere Escape Carnotaurus Gyrosphere Escape Carnotaurus Gyrosphere Escape

This new Jurassic World set has 577 pieces and has 2 instruction booklets and numbered bags that open in order. The first booklet builds everything you see above. It’s all straight-forward and fairly easy to assemble.

Carnotaurus Gyrosphere Escape

The second booklet builds the overgrown gyrosphere station. This was a little more challenging and a lot of fun.

Carnotaurus Gyrosphere Escape

This new Jurassic World set contains 3 mini figs, a large dinosaur, a truck and trailer (that can hold and launch the gyrosphere), and an overgrown gyrosphere station (that can hold and launch the gyrosphere, as well as spill “lava”). This took me a couple evenings in front of the tv to assemble. I love that scenes/vehicles can be completely built before starting the next booklet. And the bags can be opened in order so as not to make too much of a mess – and makes sorting easy.

ThinkGeek Review: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2

Guardians Monopoly

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 Monopoly

Everyone has played the original Monopoly. But this is the only version of the game that was so fun to play that time FLEW by. I played with my 10-year-old niece and 9-year-old nephew, and we just laughed and didn’t want to stop! We loved having all our favorite characters on the board.

Guardians Monopoly

Even though game-play is about the same as the original, the fun character cards, and action cards take this game to another level. This will be endless hours of fun. The kids keep asking to play again, every time they visit.

Guardians Monopoly

We also loved the game pieces!

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 Monopoly is on sale right now for $34.99 (regularly $44.99).

LEGO Review: Blue’s Helicopter Pursuit

LEGO Jurassic World Blue’s Helicopter Pursuit 75928 Building Kit

This is a very fun LEGO set that comes with 3 mini figs and Blue, the dinosaur. There are two instruction booklets that are easy to follow. And the bags can be opened in order, without making a mess. This was probably one of the easiest sets to assemble lately. There are 397 pieces and a small sheet of stickers. There is great detail on the mini figs. And I like the articulation on the helicopter, as well as the projectiles.

Box Review: Bam Box – April 2018

Bam Box

The Bam Box was founded in 2015 by Bloof, the same team of geeks, comic book lovers and pop culture collectors that started ComiconAuction.com. We love collecting. We love the thrill of it, the mystery of it and especially that feeling you get when you have a collectible in your hands that you are really excited about. So we set out to bring something different to everyone.

There are some great subscription boxes on the market, but we felt there was still something missing. We went to the drawing board with the goal of creating the box we would want to show up on our doorstep. After a lot of ideas and prototypes we arrived at the Bam Box. From the design of the box to the items inside to the instant winners we send out, we accomplished what we wanted to do: give you the subscription box we would be jealous of.”

Cost: 1 month plan starts at $24.99 plus $7.99 s/h

Bam Box

We’re back to the nice, full-color sheet with plenty of details about what’s in the box. Love it.

Bam Box

Back to the Future Pin – I would have had NO clue who this was supposed to be without the detail sheet… and I’m a huge fan of the series. Unfortunately, this looks nothing like Marty McFly or Michael J Fox.

Bam Box

Super Troopers 2 Signed Print – Unfortunately, this isn’t scifi or fantasy, and the first installment never interested me. So, I definitely wont be seeing this one.

Bam Box

Han Solo’s Dice Prop Replica – I remember these from the last Star Wars installment. These are a nice, heavy replica with plenty of detail. I’ll be keeping these.

Bam Box

Infinity War Art Print – Like last month’s, this is another gorgeous print with some of my favorite characters. I like this print much more than the possible black and white variant as well.

Summary:
I enjoyed the art print again this time. And again, it’s probably my favorite item in the box. This seemed like another slim box, with only 2 prints, a small trinket, and a pin. But this still one of the least expensive boxes that wont bankrupt you. I like the variety of genres and the nod to Solo who has a movie out this month.

ThinkGeek Exclusive: Star Wars BB-8 Wallet

BB-8 Wallet

This ThinkGeek wallet is my new favorite. It’s a standard women’s wallet made by Loungefly and officially licensed. I LOVE the BB-8 cloud design. It’s geeky, yet pretty and subtle.

BB-8 Wallet

It’s a thin wallet that fits well in my purse. Yet there is plenty of slots for credit cards, space for bills on either side, and a zippered inside pocket for change. It’s perfect for my use and the perfect size.

Star Wars BB-8 Clouds Ladies’ Zip Wallet retails for $34.99.

Bam Box

This month the box just included a simple sheet of the items included. But it’s certainly better than nothing!

Bam Box

Ghostbusters Pin – This is a fun design – I love Ghostbusters.

Bam Box

Lonestar’s Birthright Pendant – I’m glad this was referenced in the page above, or I would have never guessed! This is a nice, heavy prop replica that Spaceballs fans will enjoy.

Bam Box

Infinity War Art Print – I really like this print – though I’m trying to figure out why Thor has his eye, when the artist went to the trouble of using the most recent looks of Captain America and Black Widow.

Bam Box

Greg Berg Signed Print – Apparently he was the voice of Donatello and Bebop from the TMNT cartoon. Meh.

Bam Box

Star Wars Data Storage Unit Prop Replica – This is another strange one that I would have never guessed. It’s very heavy, but pretty simple.

Summary:
I really enjoyed the art print this time. It’s probably my favorite item in the box. I wish there was a box or something that identified the pendant. Something on the back of the pendant that said “Spaceballs” would’ve been nice as well. Regular printed handouts will be back next month, but even this black and white page is better than having to go to the website to figure out what items are. I have no complaints this time.
