The Vampire Diaries continues its sixth season with more delicious drama to sink your teeth into. In season five, after a passionate summer with Damon, Elena headed to Whitmore College with Caroline, not knowing Bonnie sacrificed her life for Jeremy’s. Meanwhile, Stefan and Caroline’s friendship deepened as they stood up to the Travelers, a nomadic witch tribe driven to strip Mystic Falls of magic and cast out its supernatural residents. In the shocking season finale, Damon, fearing he would lose his loved ones on the crumbling Other Side, made a huge sacrifice to bring them all back — with catastrophic and heartbreaking results. Season six follows the characters’ journey back to each other as they explore the duality of good versus evil inside themselves. Matt Davis reprises his role as Alaric Saltzman, recently returned from The Other Side. Plus, the season will make you misty-eyed as the departure of a major character will turn lives upside down and leave us asking what happened to Mystic Falls.
Big changes happen in this sixth season. Bonnie and Damon are stuck in an (seemingly) empty world stuck decades in the past. The two that hate each other the most are forced together and begin forming a strange relationship. One that will have a big affect on the season finale. The Big Bad Guy this season changes up a bit as well. From a psychotic, power-hungry brother to a surprising return of an old family member, then back again.
No one stays the same for long in Mystic Falls. Even Caroline takes a walk on the Evil side after a heartbreak she can’t handle. This season is full of surprises, mystery, heartbreak, romance, and more heartbreak. Knowing that Nina Dobrev would be leaving, meant that there would be an end to Damon and Elana – my favorite couple. It was a bummer knowing it was coming, but there are so many other strong characters and so many other stories to tell – that I have no doubt the writers can keep the show going without their central character. Caroline and Stefan have great chemistry, and they’ve barely begun. Bonnie’s back, and she and Damon have something… so who knows. We lost Jeremy, but got Alaric back – which was fantastic. I can’t wait to see what the next season holds.

She works alongside her friend and IT technician Winn Schott and famous photographer James Olsen, who Grant just hired away from the Daily Planet to serve as her new art director. Coming soon to NBC (no premiere date yet): Emerald City
Swept up into the eye of a tornado, 20-year-old Dorothy Gale (Adria Arjona) is transported to another world – a mystical land in great peril, where an all-powerful wizard has forbidden magic and rules over many kingdoms. This is the fabled Land of Oz in a way you’ve never seen it before, where lethal warriors roam, wicked witches plot in the shadows and a young girl from Kansas becomes a headstrong heroine who holds the fate of their world in her hands.
You, Me, and the End of the World
In this bold, adrenaline-fueled new comedy drama, the news that a comet is on an unavoidable collision course with Earth sets in motion the most hilariously unexpected chain of events imaginable. Set against the backdrop of apocalyptic chaos and starring Rob Lowe (“Parks and Recreation”), Jenna Fischer (“The Office”), Megan Mullally (“Will & Grace”) and Mathew Baynton (“Yonderland”), the story follows an eclectic group of seemingly unconnected characters around the world as their lives start to intersect in the most unexpected ways. And when we say “eclectic,” we mean a rebellious priest, an unhinged white supremacist, a mild-mannered bank manager, a germophobic cyber terrorist and an American five-star general. Some of these misfits are destined to make it to a bunker deep beneath the English suburb of Slough, and as a result will become the hugely unlikely (and totally unsuitable) future of mankind. Wouldn’t that be a disaster!
The Muppets – Premieres Tuesday, September 22 at 8/7c

Bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, LUCIFER MORNINGSTAR (Tom Ellis, “Merlin”) has abandoned his throne and retired to L.A., where he owns Lux, an upscale nightclub.
Coming soon to Syfy (no premiere date yet): Hunters
Hunters is based on Whitley Strieber’s best selling novel, Alien Hunters. It tells the tale of the disappearance of the wife of decorated Baltimore FBI agent – the resulting search of which leads to a secret government unit dedicated to hunting terrorists. The terrorists, however, might not be of this world.
Based upon Lev Grossman’s best-selling books, The Magicians stars Jason Ralph (A Most Violent Year, Aquarius) as Quentin Coldwater, a brilliant grad student who enrolls in Brakebills College for Magical Pedagogy, a secret upstate New York university specializing in magic. He and his 20-something friends soon discover that the magical fantasy world they read about as children is all too real— and poses grave danger to humanity. Stella Maeve (Chicago P.D.), Hale Appleman (Teeth), Arjun Gupta (Nurse Jackie), Olivia Taylor Dudley (Vatican Tapes, Paranormal Activity 5) and Summer Bishil (Towelhead, Lucky 7) also star in this one hour drama.
The 100-page special issue–Star Trek: Heroes and Villains– highlights 50 villains and 50 heroes from the Original series. There are rare photos, interviews, facts, trivia and exclusive content that Original series fans will enjoy. It looks like a nice collector’s piece at a decent price right now. It reminds me of when I subscribed to the Star Trek magazine years ago. Except this has many more pictures, and isn’t nearly as text heavy.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy cartoon premieres Saturday, Sept. 26 at 9:30 p.m. ET on Disney XD. The one-hour, two-episode series premiere takes viewers back to Knowhere to discover the secrets of Star-Lord’s past as well as begin an epic quest for the Cosmic Seed.
Summons to a bullet-riddled body in a Hell’s Kitchen apartment marks the start of a new case for consulting detectives Sherlock Holmes and Joan Watson. The victim is a subway train driver with a hidden stash of money and a strange Colombian connection, but why would someone kill him and leave a fortune behind?
The search for the truth will lead the sleuths deep into the hidden underground tunnels beneath New York City, where answers—and more bodies—may well await them.
Fans of the show Elementary will enjoy this new tie-in series. The characters are spot on, as the eccentric Holmes does is crazy “research” and investigates complex crimes. This latest crime involves a murder that leads to an underground trail to a museum exhibit. But it’s not a straight-forward heist.
The Ghost Line is a solid and intriguing story with colorful characters and plenty of humor. Christopher does a great job of developing vivid characters that are familiar and keeping true to the series. I’m a sucker for a good murder mystery, and you can’t beat Sherlock Holmes in any incarnation.
iZombie, the upcoming series based on the best-selling Vertigo comic, debuts March 17th on The CW. Curious what to expect? Then be sure to watch this exclusive DC All Access interview with iZombie co-creator Rob Thomas (Veronica Mars), who discusses the differences between this show’s zombies and others you may have seen, how they found the perfect zombie lead, and why they chose to stray from the comic book storyline.
