Whoever wants it.
I started watching the first few episodes of Simon and Simon yesterday. Now I remember why I loved this show as a kid… and why I had such a crush on A.J. Simon (Jameson Parker). In fact, I think I have a bigger crush now. I’ve always loved detective shows, and wish they still made them like they did in the 80s: Simon and Simon, Remington Steele, Murder She Wrote, Moonlighting, Hart to Hart, Magnum PI. Though with shows like Monk and Psych on USA, I can still get my fix of new and fresh quality private detective shows. Meanwhile, between seasons, I’m re-watching the classics.
I finished another commissioned drawing this weekend, and started working on one for fun of Mal (Nathan Fillion) and Inara (Morena Baccarin) from Firefly. As you can see, I haven’t finished. Mal and Inara look like they’ve gotten in a fist fight and both have black eyes.
I’ll, hopefully, be posting the finished version tomorrow.
And I started reading Dean and Me this weekend. I’m already loving this book. Emotional and heart-felt, Jerry Lewis wrote a loving memoir of their time together.

2. What are two things on your night-table (or next to your bed)?
A cup of water and my alarm.
3. What are three things you learned in the last seven days?
Heinlein isn’t my favorite author.
I have some really great friends that would do anything for me.
And that I need to lean on God more.
4. What are four things parents always have to tell you?
“It’s only money.â€Â
“Don’t burn any bridges.†(My mother’s favorite phrase when talking about guys I don’t want to date.)
“Do you need anything?â€Â
“Call me when you get home, so I know you’re safe.â€Â
5. What are five things you paid for in the last month?
Car loan & college loan

And Dirk Benedict in Battlestar Funtopia!
Fans of the classic Battlestar Galactica will love this.
Saw this YouTube video on a forum that I visit. It’s is very funny, but just to warn you (if you’re watching at work) there is a little swearing. It looks to be a TV pilot for a show called Paine Management. This episode stars Dirk Benedict and Corbin Bernsen.
So, I’m a quitter. I’m sorry Bellezza. I did last as long as I could. I read, skimmed, and eventually skipped my way to about halfway through the book. Then I skipped to the end of the book, looking to see if it got any better. But I just can’t finish The Moon is a Harsh Mistress. I struggled through the difficult language and politics discussion as long as I could. It’s just not as action or adventure oriented as I’m used to. It’s definitely heavy on conversation. It’s funny, because I can read books on apologetics and theology and not get bored, but when I read a science fiction book I guess it has to have more than just dialog and ideas. But I hope the rest of you enjoy it! I’m glad I tried though. Don’t get me wrong. I can say I at least gave Heinlein a shot. And now, I’ll get back to my action-packed favorite new series – Rogue Angel: The Spider Stone.
Oh, and I forgot to mention I finished the October Challenge a couple of days ago. The last book that I finished, The Nephilim, was too cheesy to even review.
Serenity star Nathan Fillion guest-stars on the Nov. 8 episode of ABC’s hit series Lost, “I Do,” which also marks the decision by Kate (Evangeline Lilly) to hook up with either Jack (Matthew Fox) or Sawyer (Josh Holloway). Fillion will play a character named Kevin in the episode, which is the last new one for a while as the series takes a 13-week hiatus, returning in February.
In “I Do,” Jack makes a decision regarding Ben’s (Michael Emerson) offer, Kate feels helpless when it looks like an angry Pickett (Michael Bowen) is going to make good on his threat to kill Sawyer, and Locke (Terry O’Quinn) discovers a hidden message that may guide him through the next steps on his journey to unlocking the secrets of the island.
Bree “Banzai”Maguire is an Air Force pilot whose plane, while flying over North Korea, gets shot down. From there, the action and adventure doesn’t stop. Banzai gets captured and wakes up 170 years in the future. This earth of the future has two major world powers, and neither democratic. These futuristic explanations can sometimes be difficult to understand and rationalize. But Grant gives us a reasonable account that’s pretty easy to grasp. Banzai soon realizes that a group of freedom fighters has chosen her as their symbol of hope.
The Legend of Banzai Maguire is considered an action-romance book. Though, it’s considerably heavier on the science fiction/action side.
This book is just the first of five in the 2176 miniseries. The first and fifth are written by Susan Grant. Unfortunately, this first book leaves you hanging enough to want to know what happens in their fight for freedom, so I’m off to pick up the next in the series!
