Friday Reading Round-up

This month I’ve seemed to slow down on my reading. Actually, I’m in the middle of three books. So, maybe if I would stick to one at a time, I’d actually finish them faster. But I have so many sitting in my pile(s) that I’m dying to read, I just have to start in on them.

Besides getting halfway through the 4th Dresden book (Summer Knight), I’m just finishing up a great thriller by Stacey Cochran, The Colorado Sequence.

And I’m also halfway through Bitterwood by James Maxey, which I’ve been reading while working out on the treadmill. It’s been a great way for time to fly by while exercising.

Mark from Solaris Books was kind enough to pass along a half a dozen selections of their newest releases. After checking out Solaris’ collection of titles, well, needless to say I’m chomping at the bit to get to around to reading all of these. The cover art on most of these are amazing. And I’ve been known to buy many a book based solely on the cover.

Solaris is an imprint of BL Pusblishing. From the UK, Solaris specializes in publishing science fiction, fantasy, and dark fantasy. But no worries, their titles are available here in the US as well.

So, look for reviews on these titles (and more) coming soon…

What are you reading??

  1. The Dresden Files are wonderful books. I checked them out after the show aired on the Sci Fi channel and fell in love with Butcher.

As for what I’m reading – I’m working on the Summer Mystery Challenge and am on my third book, “One For The Money” by Janet Evanovich, which I’m enjoying. She’s managed to make me laugh out loud, a rarity when I’m reading.

I’m also reading “The Book Thief” and “The Blood Books, Vol One” by Tanya Huff.

Why do we start so many at one time?

  2. Me, too. I’m reading 4 books – Solo Traveler, Great Expectations, Held at a Distance (fighting that one) and Dedication. Actually, there’s one other I’m nipping at, but I can’t remember the title. I’ve only finished 4 books, this month. Pitiful.

  3. I can’t wait to hear about these books! Right now I’m reading Rises The Night by our buddy Colleen. I’m really enjoying it, but life has kept me from finishing it. I’m hoping to hide tomorrow and get some serious reading done.

  4. Seems like Evanovich and Book Thief are popular at the moment. lol

Kailana – I’ve had to put off reading Black Order in order to get through all the review copies I have stacked up. But I’m really looking forward to this one. Maybe I’ll take a “sick day” to just stay in and read..

  5. Nancy – If you can’t remember the title, is that a bad sign? lol

Stephanie – Stardust is great! Looking forward to the movie!

Christine – Gah.. I need to get to that book soon too. I don’t want to be the last one to read that one too!
