Review:
Dusty Everhart is a relatable girl – smart and spunky. She often reminded me of Veronica Mars. And I found it funny when she brought up the girl detective in the novel. Arkwell Academy is a magical academy, like in Harry Potter, but with a wide variety of magical beings. As a Nightmare, Dusty must feed off people’s dreams – which in turn gives her magical power.
The Nightmare Affair is the first novel in the Arkwell Academy trilogy. I highly recommend for fans of the Vampire Academy series. With plenty of mystery, danger, suspense, humor, and a bit of romance – this is a fun and fast-paced story that was hard to put down. The characters are every bit as engaging as the magical whodunit storyline. I’ll be picking up the sequel right away.
