All the Tides of Fate – Book Review

All the Tides of Fate by Adalyn Grace

Synopsis:
Through blood and sacrifice, Amora Montara has conquered a rebellion and taken her rightful place as queen of Visidia. Now, with the islands in turmoil and the people questioning her authority, Amora cannot allow anyone to see her weaknesses.

No one can know about the curse in her bloodline. No one can know that she’s lost her magic. No one can know the truth about the boy who holds the missing half of her soul.

To save herself and Visidia, Amora embarks on a desperate quest for a mythical artifact that could fix everything―but it comes at a terrible cost. As she tries to balance her loyalty to her people, her crew, and the desires of her heart, Amora will soon discover that the power to rule might destroy her.

Review:
All the Tides of Fate is the sequel to All the Stars and Teeth, which I really enjoyed. And though I forgot some details, the author makes it easy to jump in and expertly refreshes the necessary points, without an info dump. Amora is now queen and looking for a way to break the curse that surrounds her power. So, to quietly investigate a way to lift her curse, the queen uses the excuse that she’s looking for a husband. She gathers her trusted friends and travels among her realm, though not all of her subjects are happy to have her visit.

This is fantastic duology with vibrant and memorable characters and an exciting story. It’s a unique fantasy world with various islands with magical abilities and a seemingly impossible, no-win scenario to release Amora’s curse. The story is fast-paced and full of suspense, intrigue, and romance. I loved this installment even more than the first. With several surprises along the way, as well as heartbreak, this is an amazing novel that I won’t soon forget.
