The Dresden Files series premier was last night. And I, for one, was not disappointed. The actors are well-cast, particularly Paul Blackthorne as Harry Dresden and Terrence Mann as Bob the skull. They play really well off of each other. For those that missed it last night, the SciFi Channel will be airing the pilot again today and tomorrow.
I just got an email that made my heart skip a beat.. in a good way.
It seems that Casino Royale is available for preorder (at least on ColumbiaHouse.com)! And will be released on March 13th! Just a couple weeks before my birthday.
Happy Birthday to me!
1. Superman – Of course the most famous superhero of all time. The eternal Boy Scout has to be my favorite simply because with all of his power, he feels compelled to do good simply because it’s right. No hidden motives or agenda. His morals hold true.
Superman is born Kal-El on the alien planet Krypton, and is rocketed to Earth as an infant by his scientist father moments before the planet’s destruction. The rocket lands on Earth, where the child is found by passing motorists who adopt him and give him the name Clark Kent. As Clark reaches maturity, he learns that he has superhuman abilities, which he resolves to use to help others, fighting anything from petty crime to universal threats. To keep his identity secret when not fighting evil as Superman, Clark lives among humans as a “mild-mannered reporter” for the Metropolis newspaper The Daily Planet. Clark works alongside reporter Lois Lane, with whom he is romantically involved (and whom he marries in the current mainstream comics continuity).
Mark Steven Johnson, director of the upcoming Ghost Rider, told SCI FI Wire that he’s still working on the film’s visual effects and editing with only one month to go before its Feb. 14 release. “I literally came from the Sony mixing stage, but I wanted to give a good introduction to the fans,” Johnson said at the Los Angeles Comic Book and Science Fiction Convention in Los Angeles on Jan. 14.
Storm Front is the first novel in Jim Butcher’s Dresden Files series.
Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden is a wizard, named after the famous magicians. Harry is the only Wizard listed in the Chicago phonebook. With his trusty staff and unique characters such as Bob the Skull, Harry tackles tough cases involving paranormal crimes.
The Books You’ve Been Planning To Read For Ages Frankenstein, by Mary Shelley Dracula, by Bram Stoker – I started it, but never finished for some reason. How Now Shall We Live?, by Chuck Colson – It’s been sitting at my desk at work for a few years. I think I’ve only read a few chapters.
