I went to TMNT just for some nostalgia. I actually don’t like most animated movies. So my hopes weren’t too high. I just remember the old cartoon fondly from my school days.

What a fun surprise! I absolutely loved every minute of the movie. It was definitely more action-packed than the live version movies ever were. But then, you can only move so fast and agile while wearing giant rubber suits.

The voices and animation for the Turtles were great. Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo, and Donatello all had their unique personalities and fun quirks. Unfortunately, the human characters weren’t drawn well and were pretty disappointing. But thankfully, I wasn’t watching it for them. It’s about the Turtles.

In this story, time has past since the events of the first three movies. And Leo returns from training in Central America. But he soon finds that the brothers not only have to battle crazy monsters, the Foot Clan, and immortal beings from the past; but they also have to get past their differences and learn to become a team again.

With plenty of laughs, warmth, mystery, and action, this may be the first animated movie I buy on DVD in 10 years.
