Contact Information covers science fiction and fantasy novels, movies/tv, genre-inspired subscription boxes, and other random geeky items. Due to the amount of books I receive, I no longer review self-published and vanity press titles and can no longer promise to review any particular title. But all items received are listed on the Received in 2017 page. To be considered for review, please email me for a mailing address. Print format is preferred, as I rarely read electronic books.

For any review requests, book tours, interviews, press releases, giveaways and any other questions, please email angela (at) can also be found on Facebook and Twitter.

  1. Hello!

My name is Sonya Rashidi and I work for the new web application, YEKRA. Our mission is to bring original, rare, and independent film content to communities in a revolutionary new way. We help the 95% of filmmakers who don’t get a distribution deal reach their online target audiences. And we also allow the ability for older films to have a second life.

Our newest project is the UK premiere of Giorgio Moroder presents: Metropolis. This film has an amazing musical roster that we feel is the perfect fit for your community!

This film is due to be released on 23 July 2012. It will be pushed through all traditional online distribution channels- iTunes, Amazon, etcetera. However, YEKRA has secured a one week exclusive through Eureka Entertainment starting 16 July.
We would like to offer you the opportunity to take part in this exclusive offering in the form of a public beta of our affiliate sales toolkit. We would be grateful for a plug, and in exchange, we will offer you a unique embed code for the film so that you may host it on your site and offer it to your constituents 1 week prior to all major networks. This will also give us the opportunity to analyze recommended commission percentages for future projects as we have over 2000 in the pipeline, and will start to offer negotiable commissions for each of those as of the end of August.

Hope we can start to work together and create better entertainment online for everyone.

    In peace,

  2. Dear SciFiChick: I would liek to send you a paperback of my new novel, “Come Hell or High Water.” It is the first in a trilogy set in Prague. If you could list it among “Books Received,” I would appreciate that. If you can find time to review it, I will be thrilled!

  3. We’d like to present the Kickstarter campaign for a new film, “Out There…”. The film, written and directed by Bonné Bartron, is a paranormal thriller-meets-stoner-comedy. The L.A.-based Bartron, a native of Woodland Park, Colorado, will film the entire movie in her home state and will give all donors a chance to be involved in the film on a variety of levels. Donating to the film brings rewards ranging from a copy of the original soundtrack, signed movie posters, a live stream at time of the premiere, tickets to the premiere, and personalized scripts to a 30-second spot in front of the donor’s local business telling the world that the movie couldn’t have been made without them. Donors can also get themselves an executive producer credit and even a role in the film.

We thought this campaign may be of interest to your readers. It would give them the chance to be associated on the ground level with a new project in a genre they enjoy, while reaping great rewards for donating.

The film follows two young co-eds as they encounter cattle mutilations, the CIA, alien abductions, and all-out horror. The crew for the film includes renowned cinematographer Imre Juhasz , best known for his work on A Good Day to Die Hard, with Bruce Willis, and the upcoming TV show The Six Little McGhees. Steven Legler will oversee production design and Masters FX will design the film’s special effects. (

The cast will include Kimberly J. Brown, best known for her lead role as Marnie in the Halloweentown trilogy and currently starring in a new show on AMC called Low Winter Sun. Daeg Faerch will also appear in the film. Faerch’s credits include his role as Michael Myers in Rob Zombie’s Halloween and starring opposite Will Smith in Hancock. Other well-known actors will be revealed after the movie is officially funded.

Several bands will provide original music for the film’s soundtrack including Magnolia Memoir, Soulfly, Orange, Natural Born Killers and Devil Driver. Alexander Burke of Magnolia Memoir is the film’s composer.

With years of work in the film industry as her background, this is Bartron’s first feature film as director and she is excited to provide Colorado residents with some involvement in the movie. “We are shooting all scenes in Colorado, and we want residents to feel they have an ownership in the film.”

All details for the film are available on the movie’s Kickstarter page. Bartron is available for interviews. Please contact us if this is of interest to you.

We appreciate your support of both the film and the Kickstarter campaign very much. Please let us know if we can answer any questions or be of any assistance.

  4. Hi Angela,

We’re working on brand new Syfy series Defiance and were wondering if you’d be interested in previewing the first episode for the site? Attached is information on the series – it’s the tie-in series to the Trion game of the same name – which stars Jaime Murray, Julie Benz and Grant Bowler.

If you’re interested, please send us the best address to a post a DVD to.

  5. One of my fellow authors at Silver Leaf Books, Stuart Clark, has been fortunate to receive several reviews from you over the years. This year I have my first Science Fiction novel (I’m normally a Fantasy author) that has been released in Gen-Ops, a near-future military / espionage thriller. I would love to submit it for consideration of review.

While checking out your site I notice that you do do Fantasy as well, my main series, The Imperium Saga, also has recently had the first book in a prequel trilogy released (Falestia). I was unaware of the Fantasy reviews when I considered you at first, but I’d be glad to submit that as well.

Hopefully you’re interested, and if so, would enjoy the titles.

Thank you for your time and consideration,
    Clifford B. Bowyer

  6. Hello,

Please take the time to look at (and support!) a new independent sci fi feature film anthology called Mnemophrenia.

We are now in pre-production for the second part of three intertwining and interlinked short stories – one filmed per year – that explore the rise of a new (fictional) mental condition called ‘mnemophrenia’. Linked to – and suspected to be caused by – a technological breakthrough in virtual reality, the condition renders some people unable to distinguish artificial memories from real ones.
When all three chapters are completed they will mix to create a fourth film: feature-length, connecting and completing the ideas born in the three shorts.

The first chapter – Mnemophrenia: The Beginning was filmed last year and is being submitted to film festivals.

There are fewer and fewer low budget film funds out there, and we will be funding the second chapter of the film – Total Cinema through crowdfunding so any help given by contributing or spreading the word will be greatly appreciated!

Hope you’re having a great week! We’re writing to you from Pop in a Box USA, a new site which offers everyone a chance to track their Funko Pop! Vinyl collection, and which offers a unique monthly subscription plan based on your interests.

As we’ve just launched, we’re hoping to get the word out about our site a bit – as we feel we have a lot to offer fans from a wide range of audiences and fandoms, with a huge selection of Pop Vinyls! We feel particularly pleased with our free pop initiative, which means anyone can get a free pop if they recommend us to friend.

  10. Hi!

Here is a fantastic short film that I directed. We just released online Tuesday. It’s a vimeo exclusive. We’re really proud of what we accomplished and feel that it falls into line with the types of thing you love and promote.

Please consider giving it a watch and reviewing it for us.

    The Constant:

Technological advances move so fast today that those involved forget to think through whether their research may have unintended consequences.

  11. Hi,

My next novel, Chain of Command, is coming out in October from Baen Books and I’d love to send you an advanced reading copy (print format, not electronic) for review.

  12. Good evening, SciFiChick! I have enjoyed reading a bit of your blog and some of the other comments!! I was browsing through and noticed you had received some Back To The Future gear a couple years back from Zbox. Just wanted to see if you have any of that stuff left and if so are you interested in selling? I’m a HUGE BTTF fan. I wish I would’ve ordered that box! Anyway, keep up the good work. Love me some Sci Fi!!!

  13. Greetings SciFiChick!
I’m a new author but have been an avid SciFi and fantasy geek for many a decade. I just wrote my first Hard Science Fiction novel and was wondering if you’d be interested in reviewing it. Please feel free to reach out to me at your convenience as I’d be happy to send you a copy to read. the book can be seen on Amazon here: if you’re interested. It’s listed under Lewis Masters, but that’s a pen name to keep other books I’ve written under different genre’s apart.
Hope you have a great day!
    -Steve H.

  14. Hello,

am a 77-year-young, debut writer and, a couple of years ago, it occurred to me to write.
I write mostly for my own pleasure and, as the genre is science fiction, this allows me to navigate the Universe at my leisure.
I am writing to you just to understand if the pleasure I feel in writing could also become the pleasure of some other passionate readers of the genre.
The Saga of the Phoenix – a sci-fi trilogy available from Amazon in three separate volumes or one with the complete trilogy.
Synopsis and excerpts are published on my website: and, if the plot intrigues you, I would be pleased to send you the text of the complete trilogy.

Thanking you for the time you will dedicate to me, I am pleased to take this opportunity to send you my kindest regards,

    Oriano Galvanini
