It will be eerie to hear her voice in the new Star Trek movie as the voice of the ship’s computer again. I’m sure I’ll tear up. Being a child of The Next Generation era, I remember her best as Lwaxana Troi and the amazing job she did as such an eccentric character.
She will be dearly missed.
Someone has already created a nice video tribute to her on YouTube:

Anyone who ever met Majel will agree with me that she was a great “broad” in the best sense of the word! She will be greatly missed, but at least she and Gene are together again.

Oh, sad news indeed.
Majel was awesome. I’ve seen Majel at so many Star Trek conventions. She was such a vibrant, funny, strong, wonderful lady.

I teared up when I heard, after she died, that she was going to *be* the voice of the computer. And I teared up at the first teaser trailer they showed in the theatres. Apparently I’m going to spend the entire shiny new movie crying….

Heidi Macdonald over at The Beat blog said that Majel had recorded her lines for the new Star Trek movie. I was glad to read that….

I loved her as Lwaxana but it’s the calm voice of the computer that I will surely miss. What a lady!
