Evelyn (Evie) is a complex and tortured young woman. Her missing memories cause her confusion and grief. And through her haze, she doesn’t realize what has been happening to her until she meets a Surface Dweller named Gavin. Souders’ underwater world is a fascinating place, full of mystery and lies. It’s enchanting, but deadly.

Dystopia fans should definitely check out this first installment in a unique and inspired trilogy. Meshing science fiction and YA romance, Renegade is a pulse-pounding, adventure with plenty of thrills and chills. Nearly impossible to put down, the dark setting with mystery and intrigue makes for a captivating read. The suspense builds to a climactic yet satisfying ending that will leave readers pining for the next in the series.
