The Adventure Continues

I love ongoing series, as a reader and an author. Once I’ve fallen in love with characters and the world they inhabit, a new book is like a visit with old friends. As an author, a continuing series gives me a chance to explore characters, corners and nooks in the world that go far beyond a single storyline.
That’s why I’m thrilled to bring out new books in two long-standing series: Deadly Curiosities and the Jake Desmet Adventures.
The Jake Desmet Adventures (co-written with Larry N. Martin) began with Iron & Blood, then expanded in Storm & Fury to encompass the exploits of two secret agents who show up in the novel. We’ve recently brought out the second novel, Spark of Destiny, to continue the exploits of Jake and his friends in their Steampunk world.
Iron & Blood is a steampunk action adventure filled with daring escapades, armed airships, vengeful vampires, mysterious magic, found family, mad doctors, quirky inventors, clockwork zombies, and loyal friends. Spark of Destiny, the sequel, is a steampunk action/adventure filled with clockwork creatures, armed airships, vengeful ghosts, cursed relics, strange cryptids, nefarious schemes, and plenty of explosions!
It was a lot of fun to revisit Jake and his friends and find that the characters were ready and waiting to go on their next adventure! Stay tuned—there will be more to come!
Deadly Curiosities is also getting a new installment—Tapestry (coming soon). This series, set in Charleston, SC traces the adventures of Cassidy Kincaide, a psychometric who can read the history and magic of an object by touching it. She owns Trifles and Folly, a 350 year-old antique shop that exists to get dangerous objects off the market and save the world from supernatural threats.
Tapestry will be the sixth novel so far in the Deadly Curiosities series (plus three collections of short stories and novellas), expanding the world and giving readers deeper glimpses into the characters’ lives. It has been a lot of fun over the years to create enough ‘elbow room’ in the series to explore the magic, supernatural elements, and character insights along with weaving in the marvelous city of Charleston with its rich history.
Tapestry should be out in early July on all major book platforms!
In other news—the sixth and final book in the Assassins of Landria series, Dead Man’s Justice, is now available in ebook, paperback and audiobook! There’s also a second novel in the Jake Desmet Adventures, a sequel to Iron & Blood—Spark of Destiny. And check out the newly updated Chronicles of the Necromancer books (The Summoner, The Blood King, Dark Haven, Dark Lady’s Chosen) now in trade paperback and hard cover (for the first time!) as well as ebook and audiobook. Two different limited-edition seventeenth anniversary editions with new cover art are available only on our Square store.
