Room 59: The Ties That Bind, by Cliff Ryder
When Room 59 hears about the Russians having a new nuclear submarine that could bring about another cold war, they assign a seemingly perfect man for the job. Jason Siku has Inuit blood, speaks fluent Russian, and has no family ties. His life is the job. Jason’s mission is to investigate the claim of the mysterious sub and destroy it if necessary.
But Jason’s mission is complicated when he becomes involved with his contact. And when he meets his long lost brother, things become even more dangerous. Everyone has secrets. And every interaction seems to make Jason’s job more difficult.
As with the other books in this series, the action is intense and you never know who to trust. This installment has a good mix of personal interaction, character growth, espionage, and suspense. Always fun and fast-paced, this is a series any spy fan would enjoy.
