SciFi Book Review: Star Wars: A Galactic Pop-up Adventure

Star Wars: A Galactic Pop-up Adventure by Matthew Reinhart

Pop-up artist and engineer Matthew Reinhart has created a fascinating and attractive mixture of information and art. Despite the word “adventure” in the title though, this is not any kind of unfolding story throughout the book. Instead, it’s a collection of information on planets, droids, characters and more. Each page (there are only 5) opens to a huge pop-up with smaller pop-ups and flaps with a couple paragraphs of info each. This book also just focuses on the 3 prequel films and Clone Wars, which will be pass for those who are fans of the original films only. My favorite part of this impressive book is the final page that opens up to Darth Vader complete with a glowing, red light saber. When the book closes, the light saber shuts off after several seconds. A lot of data is packed into one incredibly short but fun book.
