Came across this movie meme today:
1. Total number of films I own on DVD and video.
I’m not at home, so this will be a wild guess. Maybe between 100-130 (movies only, not including tv on dvd).
2. Last film I bought.
Special Edition of X-Men 3
3. Last film I watched.
The Wild, while I was babysitting on Saturday. I loathe cartoon movies.
4. Five films that I watch a lot or that mean a lot to me (in no particular order).
Not that these mean a lot to me, but I can watch them over and over without getting sick of them:
X-Men (1-3)
When Harry Met Sally
You’ve Got Mail
Back to the Future
White Christmas (I love watching Christmas movies any time of year.)
5. If you could be any character portrayed in a movie, who would it be?
Hmm… maybe Lois Lane from Superman Returns. That would be rough, trying to choose between Superman and Cyclops. Poor woman.
On second thought, I’d want my own powers. So make that Sue Storm from Fantastic Four. She has the coolest powers of her team.
I probably have at least a 100 or more DVD’s. My purchasing of movies has gone waaaay down since I joined Netflix. Now I pretty much only buy things that I know I’ll want to watch over and over again.
While I haven’t been buying as many movies, I’ve been buying a lot more tv shows on dvd.. which is bad, because they’re more money! But at least they’re a lot more hours of viewing pleasure…
When Harry Met Sally is one of those that I watch over and over also. It’s a perfect movie.
It was also the first movie I ever went to the theater to see alone–it was after I’d finally made the final break from the guy I’d thought I was going to marry. It was a show of independence and hope–what a perfect movie to do it with, too!
I love When Harry Met Sally. I never get tired of watching it, and often quote a few favorite lines, or retell a few favorite scenes. (“You’re the worst kind, you thing you’re low maintenance but you’re really high maintenannce.”) How about when Harry always checks the back of the book to see how it turns out?
My husband’s family goes to see White Christmas every year at an old fashioned theater called The Music Box theater outside of Chicago. It is too fun this time of year.
When Harry Met Sally is another favorite.
and heck yeah, go for your own super powers!
