Over the course of the weekend, I attended quite a few author panels and was able to meet several of them that I’ve been in contact with over the past couple years. As I’ve said, meeting and hanging out with the authors and publishing contacts was the highlight of the trip.
The first author panel I attended was Star Trek: Without a Blueprint, where the various authors discussed their current Star Trek novels and upcoming projects. I do love reading Star Trek novels, but I attended solely to see Wil Wheaton, who is working on a manga line of the original series.
Next, I ran over to an author signing, where I met Kevin J. Anderson, who’s been a favorite of mine for a long time.
And also, Vicki Pettersson, who writes my new favorite series, Signs of the Zodiac.
I was also able to hang out with Vicki, fantasy author Eldon Thompson, and a couple of their friends that night. We had a great time, with a lot of laughs!
Don’t you love Vicki’s new hat?!
A –
I had a great time meeting you. Shorty.
Same time next year?
And thank you for the kind words re. the series.
Vicki
Vicki – Definitely. I’ll come hunt you down next year too.
And I was this close to posting the photo of you jumping in the air to try to look taller than me, by the way. 😉
Hey, I’ll proudly say that I’m your biggest fan!
I thought Will was writing for the manga series already going…or is he starting a NEW one?
on another note I have a pass for the Star Wars movie if you want it for review…it’s on Monday…
Pete – It’s probably the same series. I was only half listening, cuz I can’t stand manga.
I stopped by the store yesterday and got one, thanks! Though, I know some kids who want to see it more than I do, so I may pass it along to them…
