We all know that 42 is THE ANSWER to Ultimate Question of Life. Or at least, those of us who have read or watching Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.
But here are 13 questions that 42 is also the answer to:
1. How many teeth do wolves and dogs (canines) have?
2. The planet Uranus’ north and south poles face the sun how many years before switching?
3. How many lines are there on each page of the Gutenberg Bible, the first and oldest surviving book printed with movable type?
4. How many months will the Beast will hold dominion over the Earth (Revelation 13:5)?
5. Geoff (formerly Busker), a computer scientist who legally changed his surname in 1997 to reflect the Answer, changed his last name to what?
6. How many territories in the game of Risk are there to be conquered?
7. In Marvel comics, what is the name of a massive super-human prison/holding cell located in the Negative Zone?
8. What is the number of movements of the Hallelujah Chorus in Handel’s Messiah?
9. In The X-Files, Mulder has seen Plan 9 from Outer Space how many times? And his apartment number is what?
10. In the 2004 movie I, Robot, the FedEx robot that delivers a package to Detective Spooner at the beginning of the movie has what number on its head?
11. What is the jersey number of Jackie Robinson, which is the first and only number retired by all Major League Baseball teams?
12. What is the age at which Elvis Presley died?
13. What is the record for the most amount of people in one car?

Well, heck, it’s no wonder that 42 is the answer to life, the universe, and everything, then!
Very cool idea for a TT. I like it. 🙂
this is brilliant! and now i’ll always remember how many teeth a wolf has….
All I can come up with is a measly 3 x 14. *hangs head in shame*
But how the heck did they get 42 people in one car?
It’s also one of the numbers on Lost!
wow! 42 really is the answer to everything!
When he writes his name, is it Geoff 42 or Geoff Forty Two?
Ember – He actually spells it out.
Jill – I know.. I almost put that one too..

Great 13! I enjoyed this one more than any I’ve read in a long time!
Who knew? Well, I guess you did. Thanks for educating me.
I think you will like Outlander. Only two people out of the 30 or so I have turned on to the book have not liked it.
Dang…when am I 42? Can’t wait to see what happens – love the oddity of this list 🙂
Wow! Never thought of some of these! Totally brilliant! 🙂
Great list Angela! I don’t even know how you could come up with a list of 13 things for any number! 🙂
Happy TT!
Wow I’m impressed! That was really interesting and LOL@Jill about Lost!
Yep this explains why it’s the answer to everything!
great TT!
Wait! I thought the answer was 23?? Now I’m really confused.
I had no idea about some of these and others I’d forgotten about. This is very cool. 🙂
no matter how far I am from reading that book, anytime someone brings up 42, I smile. Thanks for the reminder.
Elvis is dead?
You have the coolest TTs, Angela!
Wow, what a great list! I had no idea 42 was such a popular number.
This is an amazing way to write a TT list and what incredible stats and answers, I was stunned. And a strange coincidence I jsut googled the number 42 the other day at wikipedia and the number 47…they are considered good luck numbers in tv and movies and that is why they appear all the time. Very mysterious huh?
I love XFiles!!!!
I wrote a list of questions for my TT this week. It’s like a “mini-survey” of things about art work and decor and I am very curious about art and it’s role or lack of in our lives.
I hope you might find time or interest to drop by my blog and check it out. I really need a variety of peope for opinions and response. i also posted quite a few pictures…so I even hope it is a fun little set of questions.
Great TT

Ah, but the X-files that was a choice they made because of Hitchhikers guide…so does that count?
Good TT.
Love this post! This explains the whole ’42’ thing. I love your chevron blog banner too! I’m a die hard gater.
Journeywoman – Several of them are because of the book. That’s what makes them funny.
It will also be the number of times I try to print the list to always remember these. LOL
This is just fantastic!! I love love love this list!
Happy TT!
Loved this! 🙂
Great list, very interesting 🙂
I cannot think of anything clever to go with that. Nothing significant. Great list, though.
You always have such unique and interesting T13’s. Mine always seem like retreads.
Great list!
OMG, I was just thinking about Hitchhikers. My dad bought it (I have yet to see it) and we were talking about the books not more than an hour ago.
Great list!
“Goodbye and thanks for all the fish!” 😉
Would be funnier if it weren’t so weird…and if I weren’t 42 yrs old!
