Two Trailers (updated)

I saw The Good Shepherd and Night at the Museum this weekend. Both were disappointing and not worth reviewing. At least Night at the Museum was cute and funny, though a little too stupid. The Good Shepherd was way too long and boring. I thought it’d be suspenseful and action-packed. Instead, it was a depressing drama.

And there was no Fantastic Four 2 trailer before Night at the Museum, as was advertised. But it’s online now. It looks very cool, and I now have high hopes for this second installment! I’ll imbed it in this message, so you don’t have to go searching:Fantastic Four 2 Teaser: Marvel’s first family of superheroes, The Fantastic Four, meets their greatest challenge yet in Fantastic Four: Rise of The Silver Surfer as the enigmatic, intergalactic herald, The Silver Surfer, comes to Earth to prepare it for destruction. As the Silver Surfer races around the globe wreaking havoc, Reed, Sue, Johnny and Ben must unravel the mystery of the Silver Surfer and confront the surprising return of their mortal enemy, Dr. Doom, before all hope is lost.

  1. Sorry to hear that those movies were disappointing, though it was unlikely that I was going to see them in the theatre before they end up leaving. It was kind of a disappointing Christmas movie season in that there were no real epic films (I certainly don’t consider Eragon in that category). I guess LOTR, King Kong, and Narnia spoiled me for big movies in the December.

  2. I had heard Night at the Museum was so so, but good press on the Good Sheperd, though I am a fan of long, depressing dramas…

I need to see Rocky Balboa as well.

  3. Okay, if there was any doubt about the condition of my inner geek, there is no more. I got chills watching the Transformers trailer. Looks awesome!

I haven’t seen the first Fantastic 4 movie, but the second one looks cool. I’ll have to get caught up and go see this one. The Silver Surfer CGI is fantastic.

  4. Yea, I saw Night At The Museum and saw the trailers–Fantastic Four looked dumb, but then I wasn’t interested in the first movie and haven’t seen it yet. The Transformers looked even odder as I always thought we’re talking about kids’ toys here, not earth-threatening robots. It just didn’t seem scary to me. I thought the movie itself was fine, cute and funny in places though predictable. I can’t help but laugh at Owen Wilson even when he’s in the dumbest movies imaginable (Shanghai Knights anyone?)

  5. I can’t wait to see Rocky. But my desire to see it pales in comparison to my husband, he’s dying to see it.

I hope Fantastic Four finally lives up to it’s promise. The trailer looks pretty good, so I’ll probably give it a whirl. Transformers looks really good.

  6. Christine – I know! I had doubts how Transformers would look, but I’m definitely impressed now. Can’t wait for both of them!
The first Fantastic Four movie wasn’t as great as X-Men or Spider-Man movies, but it was fun… especially, for a Marvel comic geek like me. You’d like it for the Human Torch at the very least. 😉

  7. Michelle – Well, Transformers was a cartoon about the same.. hence the toys. And I feel the same way about Ben Stiller as you do about Owen Wilson. I’ll watch anything Ben does.

  8. Bummer, I was hoping those were going to be good ones. Oh well, there are so many others to choose from. Hope you’ve been having a fantastic holiday!

  9. They showed the Transformers trailer before Rocky Balboa the other day and I thought it looked good. They also showed a trailer for an Underworld rip-off type of movie that I still think looks interesting: Blood and Chocolate.

  10. The trailer for the second FF movie looks really good. The Silver Surfer looks great. I’m still not sure about having Doom in it again, too much cramed into one movie I’m afraid. I wasn’t a big fan of the first movie, so hopefully the second will be better.

  11. Wow. I had no idea they were making a Fantastic Four sequel. The Silver Surfer is such an intriguing character so I’m very excited to see what they decide to do with him. Transformers looks equally good!
