Tolkien Adult Coloring Books!

A Bestiary of Tolkien Coloring Book

The Bestiary of Tolkien Coloring Book is a collection of stunning images inspired by the classic world of Tolkien’s novels. The talented artist, Mauro Mazzara, has assembled an impressive variety of characters and animals. From darker, evil beasts to beautiful elves – there is over 90 pages of detailed coloring pages.

Tolkien’s World: A Fantasy Coloring Book

As the one above, this is an unofficial Tolkien-inspired coloring book. This one, however, includes over 90 pages of artwork from 5 different artists: Victor Ambrus, John Davis, Mauro Mazzara, Ian Miller, and Andrea Piparo. There is even more variety in this book, including fantastic scenery. One of the artist’s renderings I don’t care for as it’s more feathery and a bit hard to color in. But the number of artists means that there are still a great amount of fun images – characters, landscapes, and much more.

Coloring Book Review: Harry Potter Magical Places & Characters Coloring Book

Harry Potter Magical Places & Characters Coloring Book

This latest coloring book in the Harry Potter series from Scholastic is fantastic. The artwork is incredible and ornately detailed. This is definitely one of my new favorite coloring books. A lot of the pages will require colored pencils as the details are so tiny. There aren’t a lot of pages with much white space, which I appreciate. And the back pages of the book are full color images from the films – nice for collectors, but kind of pointless for those of us who won’t hold onto our coloring books once they’re completed. I would prefer more pages for coloring.

Coloring Book Review and Giveaway!: Outlander and Game of Thrones

Now that adult coloring books are all the rage, Bantam has released The Official Outlander Coloring Book ( story by Diana Gabaldon) and The Official A Game of Thrones Coloring Book ( story by George R. R. Martin).

Neither are actual stories, but rather scenes, images, and inspired drawings from the original fantasy novels. The artwork is exceptional and stunningly beautiful. As soon as I received these, I was itching to start coloring with my prisma colors. Don’t even try to use crayons. The minute detail on some of the more meticulous illustrations will require very sharp pencils.

I have a copy of The Official A Game of Thrones Coloring Book for one (1) lucky winner!
