Vacation Update 2

I can’t believe that tomorrow will be my last full day of vacation here in sunny California. Time has flown by. I’ve been much busier than I thought I’d be. Saying that though, there were a few things that I didn’t get to do like go san diego whale watching or visit some sights, but I know that if I ever have the chance to visit California again, they will be things I would love to tick off my bucket list. A friend of mine had such an amazing time when she went whale watching in San Diego so it was a shame that I did not have time to see any of the marine life during my trip this time around. Needless to say, next time I visit San Diego, a grey whale watching excursion will be at the very top of my agenda! Also, during this trip, I’ve only read 3 and a half books. And 2 of those were on the flight out here. Maybe for my next whale watching experience, I’ll go further afield to see what other sea life is out there, a friend recently went to Hawaii and recommended checking out Kai Kanani to book a whale watching adventure, so that can go on the long vacation list!

On my first day out here, the winds picked up and there was a crazy dust storm. (As seen in the picture below of the mountains.) Trees were falling on cars. Anything not heavy or tied down got blown away. Due to the rather extreme weather when I got here, I started to panic that the private jet that I flew with while using a charter company such as Jettly for example, wasn’t going to be able to arrive and pick me up as and when I needed to be. The weather has now seemed to calm down a little and I’m sure I’ll be able to get home safe.

As fun as that was, the highlight of the day was, of course, seeing the pilot of a new show that may or may not make it to this fall’s lineup of sitcoms. It was starring the talented Parker Posey, who was wonderful as always. It was also a treat to spot comedian Chris Kattan, who was waiting back in the wings. The show is titled The Return of Jezebel James. Posey plays a children’s book editor for Harper Collins who asks her estranged sister (played by Lauren Ambrose) to have the baby that she’s unable to conceive. Yes, it’s just as strange as it sounds. But both funny and heartwarming as well.

… more to come…

  1. It sounds like you are having an awesome time! I’d love to see a sitcom pilot. Heck, I’d love to see California someday. Can’t wait to hear all about it.
