Since I had so much fun doing last week’s 13 Things I Learned from Watching Star Wars, here’s my list for Classic BSG…
1. Nepotism. You can do anything you set your mind to, as long as your dad is the Commander.
2. A Cylon’s greatest weapon? Blinding you.
3. Kids can bounce back from a dead pet. Just make them a new one that moves slower than my grandma, with a mechanical bark that sounds like it’s coming from a tin can! Nothing is cooler than that.
4. You’re never too young to start gambling.
5. Borellian Nomen could, quite possibly, be the missing link.
6. Capes never go out of style.
7. Before he wished that he had Jessie’s girl, Rick Springfield probably wished that his role lasted longer than five minutes into the film.
8. Going from popular westerns, to commander, to finally Alpo dog food commercials doesn’t seem like a great way to end a career.
9. Don’t con a con man.
10. Marriages in space generally don’t last very long. But mainly because of the death toll, not divorce.
Don’t worry though, Boxey will forget his dead mother by the next episode.
11. The bad guys weren’t half as creepy as the entertainment.
12. The game of Triad? It’s a cross between basketball and Ring-Around-the-Rosy. Or maybe it’s just an excuse to see Apollo, Starbuck, and Boomer in bikini underwear.
13. You can go from being a prostitute to a nurse in no time at all.
Great list, too funny. Happy TT.
Love it! The original BSG was a lot of fun to watch. I’m glad they didn’t bring Boxy back in the new version of the show. I miss the capes though!
Nepotism: … as long as your dad is the Commander or director in the firm, or politician, professor on your university or even bloody char-woman in right place (ok not dad but then it depends on his affinity) …
Happy TT!
Cheers!
lol, great list. And while capes may never go out of fashion I shall instead heed the wisdom of The Incredibles and remember that they are hazardous 🙂
Your list reminded me why I picked up the new version on DVD rather than the original. Much that I liked the original when it was on I worry I’d be disappointed by it now.
Fence – That was a cute part!
Mark – I’d rather gouge my eyes out with toothpicks than watch the reimagined version. I don’t think I finished watching one season. But I do hope you continue to enjoy it. lol
BG – That was a cool cool show! Lyn from Bloggin’ Outloud
I LOVED that show. Thanks for the memories.
I totally don’t remember Battlestar Galactica at all! The dude from Bonanza was on it? Where was I…oh, wait, did it come out in the 70s? That would explain alot 😉
Great idea for a list! I missed last week’s Star Wars list–I need to go back and read that one!
Happy T13!
I found your site last week with the Star Wars list. These crack me up!
LOL! All of it true, I remember the classic series verra well.
My husband would digg your TT13!
Happy TT!
Hilarious! I remember watching this when I was little. But the only think that I really remember about it, was I had a huge crush on Starbuck!
GREAT post!
Thanks for the memories! Loved the pics! I admit I was a big fan of the original series. I had a huge crush on Apollo. Hehehe!
You are the funniest person I know. I love your T13’s.
I liked the original BSG, and it’s sequel Galactica Earth 80
I’m glad I stopped by because that was REALLY funny! Gosh, I haven’t seen a Cyclone in forever…
It’s also nice to see that the Borellian Nomen makeup is getting nice re-use for the Geico cavemen.
…gambling, AND smoking. Now only the bad guys smoke.
I don’t remember Rick Springfield being on there; I must have gone to the bathroom or something. BUT! I have seen Rick Springfield in concert. Did you know he is a world-class guitar player. No lie. He’s truly gifted as a player.
Great list! I liked the orginal one mostly for Richard Hatch & Dirk Benedict. I tried to rewatch it recently and it was just awful. I like the reimagined one much better. Different times, different tastes.
Thanks for the wonderful and yet amaziningly true to life list. So much better than the new show.
Great list, as usual, and I know exactly what you’re talking about each time.
Thanks for the chuckle.

Every time I look at #11, I keep thinking of a space-age Diana Ross and the Supremes.
What could we call these three charmers, I wonder? lol
Skyana Dross and the Extremes, maybe?
*chuckle*
OMG! This list is so good it makes me wish I did the Thursday 13, though I doubt I could come up with one this funny.
I am totally going to steal this idea though I’ll just use a different show. I’ll credit you with the idea when I do the post. 🙂
Great post. I haven’t seen that show in so long, but I love it’s cheesiness.
Wow, you did an amazing work of finding all these photos really a walk of memories and what laughs.
This was a hoot what an awesome TT list…loved it…my TT list is a short one this week and quite actually sci-fi themed…

That episode with Fred Astaire was so sad. Why is it Dirk Benedict always played orphans in search of his father?
