Another Daniel Craig Portrait and Review

Another portrait of my new favorite Bond: Daniel Craig.

I have also finished Outlanders: Tomb of Time by James Axler. This series was recommended to me when I mentioned how much I love the Rogue Angel series. Both are science fiction/adventure published by Gold Eagle.

The Outlander series is on the 40th book, to be released in February 2007. Yes, I typed that right. 40th! I can’t begin to go back and start reading them all, but I’ll definitely be picking some more up. The Outlanders are a small group of outlaws trying to survive a post-apocalyptic earth. Chocked full of action and adventure, The Tomb of Time also explains in detail the history of the series as the story moves along. I found myself skimming parts of the recaps, but overall it’s an excellent book. The characters are all well explained and gritty and ruthless, as they have to be to survive.

I’m going to have to check out my local Half Price Bookstore for more of this series.

* Edit (posted from my comment below): The good thing about Outlanders, while there’s a progressive story throughout the series, by no means do you have to read them in order. Each book has a separate plot.

  1. Wow, 40! That would be a bunch to catch up with!

Great job with the Craig picture. James gave me his cell phone because he got a new one and one of the ring tones is the Bond theme so I was walking around with that in my head all day yesterday.

  2. I see the Outlander series at the second hand stores a lot. I was there one day when this woman bought like the whole shelf of them. Guess someone was doing some backtracking! The amount of space they take on the shelf, though, means that I stay away. I have enough series on my plate…

  3. This sounds interesting! I’m not much into science fiction, but the premise sounds good and I love series books! Will check out my Half Price Books, too 🙂

  4. Heheh.. I have a James Bond theme ring tone too.. everytime I turn my phone on… Oh, and I think it’s on my MySpace page too.

  5. That picture is great! oh! and yes I think I have to agree with you, he has ruined me for all men.

My mom thinks that he’s goffy looking. she says he’s ears are too big and he looks like dumbo.

  6. Thanks!
I did find a photo of him that was quite a few years old, where he was very skinny. His ears did stick out then. But I think he’s grown into them quite nicely. 😉
I mean, put him next to Jeff Goldblum, and he has very small ears!

  7. What a great portrait. I think Daniel Craig is the best Bond ever!

I don’t know if you like Battlestar Galactica, but a guy contacted me via my blog and is offering free Galactica books to people who would then review the books on their blog. Check out my blog for info and if you’re interested I’ll send your email address to him.

  8. wow, what an incredible arteest you are, SciFiChick! Love your pencil portraits in your gallery. Quite an impressive talent you have there.
