This breathtaking sequel to Eon is an impressive epic fantasy geared towards teens on up. Goodman’s incredibly detailed world of magic and dragons has a rich historical lore as well. The characters, especially that of Eona, are vivid and complex. Despite the abundance of action and excitement, the well-developed characters and their interactions were the highlight of this dramatic saga.
The intrigue, mystery, adventure, and romance are more than enough to keep readers absorbed in its impressive six hundred plus pages. I was a bit worried that I wouldn’t be able to recall the events in Eon, as it has been well over 2 years since I read it. But enough backstory was given to refresh my memory of the previous events, and Eona succeeds as a strong tale on its own. The conclusion of this finely-woven tale was surprising and completely satisfying. Fantasy fans should not miss this extraordinary two-part saga.
I have the first book as an audiobook in german, think I’m gonna start it right now. Little confusing although, in Germany the 1st book is called Eona and the second one Eon, don’t now why but that’s the way it is. ^^
