Fablehaven

Fablehaven

Fablehaven, by Brandon Mull, is the first in a unique youth fantasy series.

When their parents leave for a 10-day cruise, Kendra and Seth are forced to stay with their grandparents. Their grandparents’ own a vast amount of land around their estate, but the children are forbidden to enter the woods. Once Kendra and Seth discover the secret of Fablehaven, they embark on an incredible adventure. For their grandparents estate resides by a haven for mythical and magical creatures. And grandpa is the caretaker.

Fablehaven is a wondrous place full of every kind of fairytale creature, but not all are friendly. When tragedy occurs, Kendra and Seth must confront their fears and show wisdom and bravery beyond their years to rescue their loved ones. With the unique land of Fablehaven, anything can happen. The creatures are vivid and exciting; and the human characters are just as mysterious and fun. Brandon Mull has created and exceptional world with imagery that not only pulled me into the story but Fablehaven itself. Full of danger and suspense, fantasy lovers young and old will enjoy this fantastic adventure.

I can’t say enough about how much I loved Fablehaven. This series will definitely help me fill the Harry Potter void.

  1. This is an extremely good book! True, it is for “younger readers” and I am over a half century old, but considering that I read Narnia and the Lord of the Rings Trilogy and The Hobit before I was 12, I guess I can lapse back a bit now.
