First Look: ABC’s V

Cast of V TV Show V

“Let the invasion begin.”

No one is more excited than I am about the latest alien invasion series coming to ABC this fall, even if it is a remake. And the TV spot, below, has me even more hyped. Filling out the cast of V is: Elizabeth Mitchell as Erica Evans, Morris Chestnut as Ryan Nichols, Joel Gretsch as Father Jack Landry, Lourdes Benedicto as Valerie Stevens, Logan Huffman as Tyler Evans, Laura Vandervoort as Lisa, with Morena Baccarin as Anna and Scott Wolf as Chad Decker.

Since Elizabeth Mitchell’s character on Lost activated a hydrogen bomb at the end of the season finale, I’m glad to see her on another show. She was one of my favorite actors from Lost, and I’ll be sad to see her go. But I think she’ll be great as a leading lady for V. I’m also ecstatic to see Joel Gretsch back on TV, as I loved his characters on Taken and The 4400. And Morena Baccarin (Firefly) as one of the aliens was a interesting choice.

The premise is that alien visitors arrive on Earth, promising technology, medical advancements, and peace. They gain our trust with gifts. But as Erica Evans (Elizabeth Mitchell) with Homeland Security discovers, the aliens are lying. They are trying to infiltrate our world leadership and try to take control of Earth and humanity.

It seems to be a fascinating mix of personal drama with an exciting storyline on a global scale. There have been countless alien invasion stories told over the years. I’m looking forward to see what new stories executive producer Scott Peters (creator of The 4400) and team come up with in their re-imagining of V.

  1. Oh. My. God.

I loved this series when I was a little girl. It scared me half to death. I cannot believe they are remaking it! I have a new reason to watch ABC now. Woot!
