I’m super busy at work, so I decided just to write one sentence reviews for the last books that I’ve read:
Shamus in the Green Room, by Susan Kandel, is a suspenseful mystery with an anticlimactic ending.
Inhumans: Culture Shock, by Sean McKeever, is about a foreign exchange with young Inhumans that goes horribly wrong, with a somewhat predictable story and colorful characters.
And I’ll leave you with an extended preview for the upcoming Golden Compass movie:
The Golden Compass trailers take my breath away.
One-sentence reviews are a neat challenge. It can be tough to encapsulate a book in so few words.
Heather – And I’m getting more excited about the movie after seeing each trailer!
And yes, it can be a bit difficult…
I’m really looking forward to that movie! I haven’t read the books but I’m going to read the first one before I see the movie… even if I have to wait for it to come out on DVD. But I’m hoping I’ll have it read by then. 🙂
I noticed you are reading ‘Working for the Devil’ I’ve got three of the series coming to me from the publisher sometime. What do you think of it so far? I haven’t heard anything about them and your the first person I’ve seen that is reading one.
Katie – I got them from Orbit too. I haven’t actually started on Working for the Devil yet… I meant to this weekend, but ended up being out of town all day yesterday. We’ll have to compare notes on them!
I might have to read the first one before I read the rest. I hate to start a story half way through. You might be done before I even get a chance to start though! 🙂
We’ll see.. I’m trying to finish Mel’s Quest for the Trilogy first. And I’m only a third of the way through it…
Oh, I really like the one sentence reviews! Short and sweet and to the point. Probably hard as hades to write though.
I’ve had a rough week at work too but I like your idea of one sentence reviews 🙂
I have the Susan Kandel series on my radar.
