TGIF

What a gloomy day. It was pitch black and raining a torrential downpour when I pulled in to work. And as soon as I juggled my things, opened the door with my umbrella ready, and grabbed my coffee… the coffee splashed up onto my leg and leather car seat.  I didn’t want to stand there in the rain to wipe my car seat off, so I just left it there in a puddle. At least my leg has mostly dried by now, but what a way to start the day.  Thank goodness it’s Friday.

The only good things about having this weather all weekend is that I don’t have to mow my lawn and it’s perfect for reading. My current all-consuming book is Everybody Comes to the Nightside, by Simon R. Green. This compelation includes the first three novels in the Nightside series: Something from the Nightside, Agents of Light and Darkness, and Nightingale’s Lament.  I’m halfway through Something from the Nightside and am completely enthralled. I read through lunch yesterday, and completely lost track of time. Oops.

  1. They are fun books. I have a few more in the series that I haven’t read and I know more have come out that I haven’t purchased. I like discovering these kind of interesting, slightly comical, easygoing kind of novels. I think if you like these that you would probably like that book The Snake Agent that I reviewed recently:

It has alot of similarities to the Nightside books.

  2. It’s funny, when I had a job that was business casual I spilled my coffee on myself at least once a week.

Now that I’m in construction and am in jeans all the time I never spill anything on my self.

  3. We had a couple of dreary days here, also (in Mississippi). The first day the wind began to blow and the sky turned dark, then a monstrous branch (about 15 feet long) hit the roof literally right over my head as I was typing away on my blog. It sounded like a bunch of giants fighting on the roof as it rolled around and then crashed to the ground. I’m lucky I didn’t have coffee in my hand or you and I would have been match-mates.

BTW, I like your new, simpler format and I’m really enjoying your reviews!!
